VU meter tuning making your own vu scales
If you want, you can make your own VU meter. I’d done a copy of a sifam vu meter (AL29) because it looks nice. (with corel draw) Then i’d printed it on photo paper and cut it. Looks nice ;-) You can see a behringer VU meter from the vintage series.




Note:You can use any 1mA VU-Meter with a standards linear scale. On the pictures above there is a standard VU scale, in this case not correct! But i’d done a new scale in the Corel Draw Grafic Programm :-) The original SSL uses SIFAM PPM. If you want to purchase the PPM14 you’ll get the BBC scale from 0-7. For the SSL you’ll need the scale from 0-20.

THE THAT2151/dbx2150 can be found in the SSL 4000 series and Neve V desks. They are used for the console compressors.
