SPL TRANSIENT DESIGNER - how it works...

The Attack-Network

The Attack-Network have 2 envelope generators. The first one creates a voltage which is following by the original waveform.
The second generator creates the envelope 2 with slow transient phenomenon. The shaded area in picture 2 is the difference between Env1 and Env2 from wich the control voltage for the vca that2181 is calculated. For a short moment the transient by positive attack values will be amplified, at negative attack values it will be reduced.

The Sustain Network

The sustain network works with two envelope generators, too. The envelope generator3 (picture4) is following the original waveform… The envelope generator 4 is holding the level of the transient phenomenon over a longer period of time at the level of the peak level. From the difference of both voltages (shaped area) the control voltage for the VCA is calculated. By positive sustain values the transient time will be extended, and at negative suistain values the transient time will be shortended.
