THE EXPOSURE

For the exposure you’ll need:

  • soft cellular material (shown red in the picture)
  • glass (you could get this as waste in the glaser’s shop)
but be careful with the edges! i taped the edges to prevent violations
TIP: take the glass from an old picture frame!
  • some “heavy metal” ;-) to press the glass on the layout
  • an exposure maschine (very expensive)
TIP: buy a face tanner for 5€ at ebay ;-)
the advantage is that you can see the layout on the pcb (printed circuit board)
(with an expensive exposure maschines you couldn’t see the layout!)

Always clean up the glass! Elsewhere the dust will change your layout ;-)

Here you can see the pre sensetized pcb.
TIP:

  • Don’t use the cheapest pcbs!
It is much harder to use them especially if you’re a beginner

  • Put the pcb on the foam
  • Put the layout onto the pcb (now the words should be readable)

Put the glass on the layout, be careful not to shift the layout.
Fortunately we are using the cheap methode and so we can see everything :-)

The glass must be straigt to the layout and the pcb! Otherwise the pcb traces will be
diffuse and unusable.
Use heavy books ore metal or something.

Put the face tanner onto the books or the metal...

If you’re using exactly the same glass, exactly the same face tanner and exactly the same distance to the pcb and the exactly same pcb...
                 >>Then the time to expose the pcb  is 90 seconds with me<<

The time for the expose will variate with the used material between some second to some minutes! Check out the best time for your layouts!
